Gujarati Recipes - Puran Poli

Puran Poli is one of the well known sweet dishes made it most part of India. It is very simple and easy to make and everyone likes it a lot.

Ingredients to make Puran Poli
1 cup Toor dal
1 cup sugar or Jaggery
1/2 tablespoon Elachi powder
1/2 tablespoon khaskhas
1/4 tablespoon Guava powder
1 1/4 cup Wheat flour

Method to prepare Puran Poli
1. Boil Toor dal in cooker with little water in it.

2. Once done, take the Toor dal in a pan with Ghee applied in it and add sugar or jaggery in it. Keep in on low-sim on Gas and stir well.

3. If Puran appears liquid then add Wheat flour to it and keep stirring well.

4. Add Elachi powder, Guava powder and Khaskhas powder in Oil and mix well.

5. Coat Ghee in a plate and let Puran to cool down.

6. Make Dough slightly harder than what you do for normal chappati. Stuff the make balls of wheat with Puran and make as Chappati's. Then heat it on Gas on low flame.

7. Once it cool downs apply ghee and serve it.
