50% of the Amount must be spent through the Jharkhand Panchayats - Jharkhand Panchayat Election 2010

The Panchayati Raj Ministry has regulated a rule that after the Jharkhand Panchayat Election 2010, at least 50% of the amount assigned to the Panchayats must be spent.

As soon as the Jharkhand Panchayat Election 2010 process is started, the central government will also give the rights to the Jharkhand panchayats. Central Panchayati Raj Ministry has sent a letter to the Panchayati Raj Chief or Panchayati Raj Chairman Santosh Kumar Satpathi that at least 50% of the total amount of NREGA and BRGF must be spent through the selected Jharkhand panchayats.

If however, the Jharkhand State Government spends more than 50%, its even better. Its a direction from the center that the scheduling of execution of NREGA and BRGF projects will be done by the Gram Sabhas. It will be the Gram Sabhas who will decide that through which agency the projects will be executed. After the execution of 50% of the projects, the gram sabhas will decide over whether the rest 50% projects will be executed by the Jharkhand panchayats or the blocks.

This year, under NREGA, there are projects worth Rs. 2200 labour budget. After the Jharkhand Panchayat Election 2010, at least Rs. 800 crores will be given to the Jharkhand panchayats because the blocks have already spend Rs. 600 crores and Rs. 1600 crores is remaining so 50% of Rs. 1600 will be allotted to the Jharkhand Panchayats. Also, after the Jharkhand Panchayat Election 2010, the Jharkhand Panchayats will be allowed to make and send projects to the Indian Central Government for the betterment of the villages and the central government will check those projects and will evaluate and it is possible that they can allot separate amount to the projects [to the panchayats] for those projects.
