Kisori sansad in Bihar will give an opportunity to 243 adolescent girls to hold their one-day 'Kishori Sansad 'at the annexe building of the Bihar legislative council on January 24 to present their demands. These girls will be sekected one each from the 243 assembly constituencies of Bihar.

What is Kisori sansad and its selection criteria

From the time it has been announced about Kisori sansad in Patna, the capital city of Bihar, people are looking for selection process of Kisori sansad? The selection process of these adolescent girls has been nearly completed. Kisori Sansad is being organized under Child Protection and Empowerment Committee of the legislative council, education department and Mahila Samakhya, is a new initiative and experiment, which has the support of Unicef. The girls who will be selected for kisori sansad will be from all social categories - school going, non-school going, and dropout groups.. These girls were given a format (questionnaire) to fill or reply orally, and 243 of them were selected on the basis of their replies.

Now the question is what will kisori sansad do?
The answer to this question is that they would hold their preparatory meeting in parliamentary practice in Patna for twos days form January 21. Kisori Sansad is expected groom leadership qualities among young girls. This will also provide exposure in parliamentary practice to these girls. They will discuss what more needs to be done for the welfare and uplift of women and adolescent girls. The Kishori Sansad would be conducted as per parliamentary practice guidelines. There would be both treasury and opposition benches in this kisori sansad. Participants will seklect one among themselves to act as speaker of the "House".

After articulating their demands, they would submit a report to the government. Whatever the government deems fit would be incorporated in its policy measures.
