Madhubala, the most popular bollywood movies actress in 1950-60's. Her real name was Mumtaz Begum Jehan Dehlavi. She was born on 14 February 1933 in a muslim family in New Delhi. Her parents had 11 children and she was the 5th one. When her ather Ataullah Khan lost his jon in Peshawar they move to Bombay for a better life and here Madhubala joined the bollywood at the age of nine. Madhubala

In 1942 her first movie "Basant" was a successful movie at box office. The name Madhubala was given to her by Actress Devika Rani. Very soon she gathered a reputation in the film industry and get many lead roles.In 1947 her first lead role with Raj Kapoor in Neel Kamal under the producer Kidar Sharma. She was only 14 when she get this role. Although the film was not so hit was her performance was very good. In 1949 she came with Ashok Kumar in Mahal a Bombay Talkies production. She was 16 only but had achieved a great fame. The song "Aayega Aanewala" gave to famous faces Madhubala and Lata Mageskar as playback singer.

In 1950, Madhubala suffered from heart problem, there was a hole in her heart but she did not tell any one in the film industry and one day in 1954 when she start vomiting with blood in Madras while suiting , media was aware of her illness.She performed in 70 movies.

Madhubala was also fond of Hollywood movies . Her profile was also published in American magazines. She had an affair with Dilip Kumar but in 1960 she was married to actor and singer Kishore Kumar. They first met during the filming of Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi in 1958. In 1960 her movie Mughal-e-Azam and she was nominated for Film fare award .Then she went to London for her treatment and after tests doctors refuse her operation and she lived for 9 more yaers . She was dead on 23 February 1969 and buried at Santa Cruz.
