Location of Attiveri Bird Sanctuary in Karnataka:
Attiveri Bird Sanctuary is located fifteen km from Mundgod in Kalghatgi taluk. This beautiful place is in Dharwad district of Uttara Karnataka. From Bangalore it is about 400 Kms. The total area covered is about 2.23 sq kms, and this sanctuary is situated surrounding the Attiveri reservoir.

Birds Attraction:
Attiveri Reservoir is formed by the construction of a dam in Tayawwanahalla which is in the village of Attiveri. This reservoir is the most liked place by many aquatic birds and one more reason for attraction ofthis place by birds is nearby agricultural fields.

Birds species in Attiveri Bird Sanctuary :
It is very amazing to hear that there are 79 species of birds migrate here from twenty two different countries.Birds like Indian shag, little cormorant, spoonbill, pied kingfisher, cattle egret, white ibis, white-breasted kingfisher, common grey hornbill and common swallow are the most common migratory birds in this Sanctuary.

Time to Visit:
Best season here is the month of November and March.Rest rooms are available here for tourists and very soon guesthouse is being built for getting more convenice to tourists.
