Agumbe is an hill station situated in western ghats of Karnataka.

Agumbe is one of the best peak points in Western Ghats and is situated at a distance of 378 kms from Bangalore. The major attraction of Agumbe is sunset view point that is 825 meters from sea level. The ideal time for visiting this place is November to January as the sky is very clear during that period. One can reach Shimoga, the district head quarters first that is located at a distance of 90kms from Agumbe in two ways; that is either towards Tumkur on NH4 or towards Channarayapatna on NH 48. From Shimoga one can easily reach Agumbe via Thirthahalli which is 30kms from the sunset view point. Adventurous trekkers enjoy the journey to Agumbe as the roads are steep and sharp curved.

Only a small restaurant is available for food near the sunset view point. This is run by Doddamane or Kasturi Akka This small restaurant is run by their family for more than 60 years for the trekkers who visit Agumbe. One can contact them on 08181-233075.

Shringeri in Chikmagalur district is very nearer to this place so people can visit that place also if they desired.
