Poha (Rice Flakes) and Potato Curry - Karnataka Dish Recipe

Rice Flakes (Poha) 1 cup

Mustard Seeds 1/2 Teaspoon

Turmeric Powder 1/2 Teaspoon

Red Chilly Powder 1 Teaspoon

Green/Red Chilli 1 (Finely Chopped)

Cinnamon Powder 1 Pinch

Boiled Potato 1 (cut into small pieces)

Hing 1 Pinch

Few Curry Leaves

Sesame Seeds 1 Pinch

salt to taste

lime juice to taste

sugar to taste

Oil 1 Tablespoon

Poha (Rice Flakes) and Potato Curry - Karnataka Dish Recipe

Preperation Method of Poha (Rice Flakes) and Potato Curry - Karnataka Dish Recipe:



Take one cup of poha and soak it in water for 10 minutes. Then Drain and set aside. Make sure that the Poha does not soak in water for more than 10 minutes. This may cause the poha to get smashed and becomes poggy.
Now heat oil in a pan and keep it in stove. After the oil gets heated add mustard seeds, hing, and curry leaves.
The seeds should be put only after the oil is heated well. If done so, the seeds will start to crackle. Then add the cut potatoes, salt, turmeric powder, cinnamon powder and sesame seeds.
After adding all the items mix well and cook it for a minute.
When all these ingredients get cooked well add the poha, lime juice and sugar. Stir these ingredients well.
When the color and the ingredients mix well with the poha the dish is ready to serve.
