Hot spot - Mussoorie
Mussoorie is a hot spot for the tourists in India. Mussoorie is a famous hill resort situated at an altitude of about 2005 meters and spread over an area of about 65 square kilometers. History of Mussoorie
In the year 1827 the famous adventures military officer, Captain Young travel around and started the holiday resort. At present there are some more holiday resorts but this is the only one of its kind.

Famous tourist attractions in Mussoorie
The temple is situated towards the extreme western area of the Mussoorie. It is situated at a distance of 16kms form Mussoorie. Bhadraj is a well known trekking site. The temple is dedicated to Lord Bal Bhadra who is brother of Lord Krishna. Bhadraj offers a fascinating scene of the surrounding Doon Valley.
Vinog Mountain Quail Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is located at a distance of 12kms from here which was established in the year 1993. The sanctuary is spread over an area of 339 hectares. The sanctuary is having many species of extinct birds like Mountain Quail which is popularly known as Pahari Bater which got extinct from the year 1876. The sanctuary is a must visit place while visiting Mussoorie.
Mussoorie Lake is one of the famous lakes near Mussoorie. The lake is recently developed. The lake is located on the Dehradun road and is one of the favorite picnic spots for the visitors as well as the locals.
The best way to visit the Gun Hill is through rope way. The rope journey is thrilling as well as enjoying. Gun Hill is the second highest peak of the town with an altitude of about 2122 meters from the sea level. The amazing view of Himalayas can be enjoyed from the hill top.
A powerful telescope is placed here with the help of which one can view the panoramic views of the snow clad Himalayas.
Camel's back Road
The place is famous for the beautiful view of the sunsets and also one can enjoy horse riding along with long walks.
The biggest water fall of the region Kempty is situated at a distance of about 16kms from here on the road towards the famous shrine Yamnotri.
Nagtibba is located at a distance of about 45kms from Mussoorie. It is one of the best trekking sites of the region.
Dhanoti is located at a distance of about 25kms from Mussoorie and offers beautiful views of Himalayan region.
The place is about 90kms from Mussoorie on the Yamnotri road. As per the legends the Kuarvas made a house known as "laksha grayah" and tried to burn the Pandavas alive here at Lakha Mandal.
The temple is situated a high altitude of 3040 meters and is one of the famous trekking sites of the region.
Best time to visit
Mussoorie can be visited round the year. The climate here is pleasant here round the year.

Jolly Grant is about 25kms from here and is the nearest airport.
Dehradun is the nearest railway station and is about 30kms from here.
