In Maharashtra you can send a money order for minimum Rs.20/- or more via Speed Post between stations which are connected by Speed Post. For this, in addition to the money order commission, you need to pay a speed post fee.
This fee has to be paid in the form of (a) postage stamp(s) affixed; or (b) frank impressed on the form.
Such a facility of sending money orders via Speed Post should be done at the Maharashtra Speed Post Centers or counter of Maharashtra Post Offices.
Note: In case the Money Order is not paid within the notified time-limit, due to operational fault of the department, you can get a refund of the Speed Post fee. However, you need to make a claim within 3 months from the date of issue.
