Early life of A.R. Rahman

Real name of A.R.Rahman is Allah Rakha Rahman. Birth place of A.R.Rahman is Chennai. Parents of A.R.Rahman are R. K. Shekhar and Kareema. When he was young he lost his father and used the instruments as a source of income. In one situation his younger sister fell ill, the whole family prayed at a mosque and vow conversion to Islam, if she got cure as per the advice of a family friend. Her sister get well soon, the family then converted to Islam in the year 1989.

S. Dileep Kumar has changed in to A. R. Rahman at the age of 23 years. Beginning musical stage of A.R.Rahman started at the age of 11. Musical guru for A.R.Rahman is Master Dhanraj. Musical graduation of A.R.Rahman was in Trinity College of Music and got degree in Western classical music.

Musical Career of A.R. Rahman

In the beginning along with A.R.Rahman's childhood friends and percussionist Sivamani, John Anthony, Suresh Peters, JoJo and Raja , Rahman worked as a keyboard player and an arranger in "Roots band". He can play keyboard and piano, the synthesizer, the harmonium and the guitar. Due to his curiosity in music, he mixed 'music and technology' in ideal combination which gives him great name not only in Tamin filim Industry but also in whole India and world music to score soundtracks by his music.

In the year 1992, Rahman starts his own music mixing studio 'Inn' located backyard of his house. First he started his carrier as music composer for advertisements. Then in the year 1992, he was calledup by film director Mani Ratnam to compose for his Tamil film Roja, for that he got Rajat Kamal award for Best Music Director at the A.R.Rahman's National Film Awards are for Minsaara Kanavu in 1997, Lagaan in 2002, Kannathil Muthamittal in 2003, the most ever by any composer.

After the great success of the movie Roja, Rahman was approached by Chennai film industry and he did Bombay, Kadhalan, Karuththamma, Duet, Indira, Mr. Romeo, Love Birds and Muthu. His Hindi-language films from Mumbai film industry are Dil Se, Taal, Chaiyya Chaiyya, and many more super hit filims.

Family life of A.R. Rahman

A.R.Rahman's wife is Saira Banu. A.R.Rahman's children are Khadijah, Rahima, and Aameen. Music director G. V. Prakash Kumar is the son of Rahman's elder sister, A. R. Reihana.

Other than his film projects, Rahman has been worked out many projects aside from film album including the most famous Vande Mataram (1997) which was dedicated to India's 50th anniversary of independence then Bharat Bala and Jana Gana Mana. Rahman made jingles for ads and composed music for athletic events, Television, internet media publications, documentaries and short films.

Music style and impact of A.R. Rahman

Rahman has good knowledge in Carnatic music, Western classical, Hindustani music and the Qawwali style. He prepared his own style of music layering instruments from differing music idioms in an improvisatory manner, the symphonic orchestral themes have helped him a lot to scores better result in his music. Rahman started to play arrangements on mono, synonymous at the time of predecessors such as K. V. Mahadevan and Vishwanathan Ramamoorthy, but later his trend and way of music changed. Rahman analyzed and experimented on fusing traditional instruments and worked and found new electronic sounds and technology which took him to reach the level of sky in the film Industry.
