Congress members expelled due to anti party activities in TamilNadu assembly elections 2011
As many as 19 congress members were expelled from the party due to anti party activities in TamilNadu assembly elections 2011. The members were expelled on April 15, 20011, the day after the voting of TamilNadu assembly elections 2011. The chief among them were S.Ve shekher and Karate R. Thiagarajan. It is to be noted that both of them were previous members of AIADMK party and had been expelled there due to anti party activities. Along with them some of the office bearers of Congress party youth wing were also expelled. These were the members who demonstrated in front of TamilNadu congress president Thangabalu's house in protest against the candidature of Jayanthi in Mylapore constituency last month. Jayanthi is the wife of Thangabalu and her candidature was rejected due to insufficient documents presented during nomination.
S.Ve.Shekher the sitting MLA of Mylapore constituency was hoping that he would be given the seat again in this election. Trouble started when Thangabalu awarded the seat to his wife and rejected his application. This led to protest by party members against Jayanthi's nomination in front of Thangabalu's house. When returning officer of Mylapore constituency rejected Jayanthi's nomination Thangabalu the alternate candidate was nominated as the official candidate. This had agitated the party members as they thought that Thangabalu had deliberately done this so that the Mylapore constituency is with him or his wife. Many party workers protested in various district of TamilNadu alleging that Thangabalu had nominated members close to him in many constituencies.
Thangabalu expelled S.Ve Shekher and Karate Thiagarajan whom along with other party workers were the mastermind for the agitation in front of his house. There is a buzz in the TamilNadu congress party after the expulsion of both the members. We need to wait and see what these two will do and what will be their course of action in the coming days.
Wait and watch the happenings in the official congress office Sathyamurthy Bhavan in next few days. It would be really interesting!!!
This resource is good and gives the details of persons those who the Congress members expelled due to anti party activities in TamilNadu assembly elections 2011
They were expelled due to groupism in Cong party. It is familiar in cong in TamilNadu. It is often mocked at that if a cong meeting held there would a dhoti tearing up will be a certain aspect. After Kamaraj there is no a commendable leader in cong.We can say that when Kamaraj was there ,there were groups of Rajaji and Kamraj .as their policies are bankrupt after independence there is no unity.for this purpose only gandhiji recommended that congress party should be abolished as its purpose was fulfilled. But the power mongers of congress set aside gandhiji an his policies.that fault reflects now also.the result is thangabalu expels 19 and wait for some more time ,at that time thangabalu will be thrown away from the party post
