Past DMK government wanted to bring a reformation in the present school educational system in Tamilnadu. So they created a committee to go through the various syllabuses followed in Tamilnadu schools. Like CBSE, Matriculation and state board syllabus after the review of committee they introduced a common syllabus system in Tamilnadu popularly known as Samacheer Kalvi after the state elections DMK was defeated by AIADMK headed by J.Jayalalitha. New State government of Tamilnadu found many errors differences in concepts, lack of quality in Tamilnadu Samacheer Kalvi text books. So Tamilnadu government appealed to Chennai high court to stop Samacheer Kalvi in the present academic year. But Chennai high court gave judgment to follow the Samacheer kalvi syllabus. Jaya's government was disappointed by this judgment. Hence, they move to Supreme Court of India. Even there Chennai high court judgment is strongly recommended. That Samacheer kalvi will be effective from 2011 – 2012 academic years for the classes 1 to 10 in Tamilnadu government, government aided, Matriculation schools.

Due to this students attended the school without any short of text books more than 40days. So, the parents and students of SSLC were much worried about Samacheer kalvi SSLC common public exam-2012. To remove short comings in SSLC public exam 2012, Tamilnadu nursery, primary and Matriculation schools welfare association has put a recommendation to give bonus marks for SSLC 2012 exam to the state government of Tamilnadu.

Date of Samacheer kalvi SSLC common public exam 2012 will be announced by Tamilnadu education minister very soon.
