Al-Ameen Mission at Khalatpur Howrah which was established by M Nurul Islam at 1986 it has now over 2000 students with Boys and Girls schools with hostel facility
Al -Ameen Mission actually is a residential training institute which was built by M Nurul Islam. First it was Khalatpur Junior High Madrasa in the year 1976. He started this Madrasa when he was studiying at 10th standard. Then he started Islamic Institute Culture in 1984. In 1986 he sets up a hostel in the Madrasa by begging rice from every house of Khalatpur Village. Then late 1986 or 1987 it was named as AL AMEEN MISSION.
The curriculum followed by AL AMEEN Mission is WBBSE.
The beginning was very humble by only 11 students studying at Madrasa. But presently it has over 2000 students. Even they are scoring very high and also this Mission got Best School Award in 2002 which was sponsored by The Telegraph.
Apart from giving education to students it also takes part in social work thus making the Mission socially viable too. The AL- AMEEN Mission introduced scholarship program to needy students and it also helps unemployed Muslims by giving them loans.
Zakat and donation is the main resource system for this mission. Some other sources like Moulana Azad Foundation, West Bengal Ministry of Minority Affairs and Wakf Board West Bengal also help The Mission. The Mission reserves 25% seats for poor and orphans.
The whole campus of the Mission is on 45 bighas land at Khalatpur, Howrah. Basically it is the campus meant for boys. A five storied hostel building, three storied school building and again a three storied building used for administration and also a health centre attached. For regular Namaz there is a Mosque in the hostel building.
Not only school meant for boys but in the year 2000 Al-Ameen Mission for Girls was established which consists of three storied hostel building and a three storied school building acquired 15 bighas land.
Apart from that constant development of the Mission helped them to open more branches at Belpukur, Dakshin Dinajpur, Pathachapri at Birbhum.
The Mission also opened study circle for JEE(Med/Engg.) and WBSC coaching. The study circle is located at Park Circus, Kolkata.
