Vote Boycott in Amta Howrah: Kharigeria on 3rd May 2011

In Howrah Amta in Polling Booth NO: 91A in Kharigeria under Amta Constituency has got 1262 voters but they haven't cast a single vote in this booth. They have boycotted the vote as there were many demands which are yet to be fulfilled by the existing Government.
Few of the Demands:
Roads, Agricultural Development, Embankments and Rural Electrification. The people said several promises were made the last MLA, but none of them were meet or even the initiatives were taken by the last MLA.

Before the election while campaigning, the existing MLA Mr. Rabindranath Mitra of CPM requested the people that please give me another chance, will solve each and every problems of this area.

Kharigeria is place worst effected during the monsoon. It's in the bank of river Damodar and during monsoon the entire village got drenched due to water logging. The people of this area visited the MLA and the BLRO office several time but no action has been taken neither from the MLA nor from the BLRO office. That's the reason they have decided to boycott the vote is the way to show their anger to the existing government.

On 3rd May 2011, the 4th phase of Assembly Election the polling officer and agents of this booth thought that the people will come to vote here a little late. But at the end of the day they never got a single vote from this booth.

This is really a tight slap on the face of Mr. Rabindranath Mitra, current MLA.
