Biography of Paresh Maity
Paper, Canvas or any other mediums are structured in a magic with one touch of Paresh Maity's colour. The great Artist of West Bengal, Paresh Maity was born on 1st January 1965 in Tamulk of West Bengal. Now he lives in Delhi. Jayasri Burman, an Indian Artist is the wife of Paresh Maity.
Paresh Maity has obtained a degree in Fine Arts from the Government College of Art and craft, Kolkata. After that he went to Delhi College of Arts to study Masters of Fine Arts. Paresh Maity has experimented in manY abstracts through out 20 years of his carrier. The colours used by Paresh to portary expressions are superb and attracts the viewer. Mainly Paresh Maity gradually represented the human form from atmospheric sceneries.
Now a days Paresh puts concentrates in painting bold and graphic images. Paresh Maity was awarded with many awards for his awesome paintings. These includes Royal Water colour Society,London in 2002; Harmony Award in Mumbai, 1999; British Council Visitorship in 1993; Pt. Ravishankar Award from College of Art, New Delhi in 1992; All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society Award; Pt. Jawaharlal Neheru Birth Centurian Award in 1988; Governors Gold Medal from Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata in 1988 and many more. In 1983, Paresh Maity was awarded by Indian Society of Oriental Art, Kolkata and has achieved Gold Medal hrom U.S.S.R in the same tear.
Presh Mity's recent group exhibition includes 'The World on Canvas' by Art Alive Gallery, New Delhi at Ravindra Bhavan, Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi. More over Paresh Maity had some 43 shows in twenty years. The British Museum, and the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi are the best collection of his works.
