Chandigarh Botanical Garden & Nature Park


Chandigarh Botanical Garden & Nature Park is the step to save the trees and the greenery of this beautiful city Chandigarh.There are many medicinal plants in this garden.

Chandigarh Botanical Garden & Nature Park was on 30th May, 2002 by Lt. Gen. (Retd.) J.F.R. Jacob, the then Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh.

Sections at Chandigarh Botanical Garden & Nature Park

Botanical Garden Chandigarh
Chandigarh Botanical Garden & Nature Park consists of 15 Botanical Sections. Some of them are as following:

Medicinal Plants Section at Chandigarh Botanical Garden There are many medicinal plants are grown under this section like (Harar, Bahera, Amla, Neem, Arjun, Maulsari etc.). More than 75 species of medicinal trees and 55 species of medicinal shrubs, herbs & climbers have already been planted in this section.

Arboretum ection at Chandigarh Botanical Garden consists of more than 90 species of different kinds of trees some of them are (Vilayati kikar, Pink Cedar
Haldu, Bael etc.)

Ornamental/ Flowering Tree Section at Chandigarh Botanical Garden This is the most beautiful section of the garden as this section has more than 35 species of ornamental trees like Acacias, Lagerstroemia, Cassias and Bauhinias etc. have been planted in this section.

Cactus & Succulent Section at Chandigarh Botanical Garden This section is very unique because of its plants choice as it has More than 100 varieties of Cactus & Succulent plants which give this section a totally separate identification.

Lots of other beautiful sections are also present in this garden which simply looks very beautiful such as Tropical Rain Forest Section, Japanese Garden, Nutrition garden etc.

Lakes at Chandigarh Botanical Garden & Nature Park


There are beautiful lakes designed along Patiala-ki-Rao and in Botanical Garden. Which increase the beauty of the place and also provide the water for irrigation of the trees and plants. These have been so designed as to harvest rain water.
5 more water bodies have been developed inside the garden. These water bodies will also harvest the rain water and add to the beauty of the garden.

There are many facilities available at Chandigarh Botanical Garden such as Meditation Huts-cum-Rain Shelters, Nursery-cum-Research Block, Public Utility services and Cafeteria in the garden premises itself.
