Mandi is a historic and small town located in HImachal Pradesh along the banks of river Beas at an altitude of 800 meters. It is believed the renowned sage Mandava used to meditate here. Mandi is well-known for its 81 temples and above all for the vast range of fine carving.
Mandi is also described as the 'Kashi of the Hills' and it is the gateway to the Kullu valley because of which it acts as a base for a number of exciting excursions.
BHOOTNATH TEMPLE: The ancient Bhootnath Temple was built in 1520s. Bhootnath Temple is situated in Mandi town and is one of the most visited temples in the District. Shivratri is celebrated in Bhootnath Temple withgreat zeal and excitement and thousands of devotees visit the temple during March every year.
SYAMAKALI TEMPLE: This is yet another ancient temple in Mandi. Syamkali Temple is also called the temple of Tarna Devi. Syamkali Temple is situated on Tarna Hill in Mandi
PANDOH DAM: Pandoh is located about 16 km from Mandi. Pandoh is famous for Pandoh Dam which is unique because it is an earth and rock fill dam.
SUNDERNAGAR: Small town of Sundernagar is located just 25 km from Mandi at an altitude of 1100 m. Sundernagar is famous for its scenic beauty and reservoir of the Beas - Sutlej link canal. There is famous Mahamaya Temple in Sundernagar located on top of the hill.
PRASHAR LAKE: The beautiful lake is around 40 km north of Mandi
JANJHELI : If you wish to enjoy the nature and thick forests then Janjheli is the ideal place. Janjheli is around 67 km from Mandi.
SHIKARI DEVI: The ancient temple is around 80 Km from Mandi. Adventure lovers can also go trekking here
