Yellu Bella , Makara Sanskranthi Festival - Rangoli

Makara Sanskranthi is start of new spring season with colors and kites around us.

The festive season is around and we need to know about the Makara Sanskranthi festival and celebrate it in the traditional manner.

This festival is mark or beginning of the Spring season or harvesting. It depends on states how they celebrate. In South India, the celebration is done in very traditional way;

In Karnataka the festival is celebrated in a traditional way. With all family members getting up early in the morning and cleaning the house. The complete house is decorated with the fresh mango leaves, which is an auspicious way of welcoming God in our house in front door as "thoranam".

During this festival, every family prepares a traditional recipe at home called Yellu Bella. Yellu Bella is form of recipe where Sesame, groundnut and Jaggery are mixed together. Steps to prepare Yellu Bella
