The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKON) is located on a hillock in Rajajinagar, Bangalore district of Karnataka.


In 1987, a 7 acre 'karaab land' (waste land) in Rajajinagar with monolithic huge rock was bought from BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) to build the ISKON temple. In September 1988, on the appearance day of Lord Balarama, the deities of Krishna Balarama was moved to a temporary shed in this place. The construction of ISKON temple complex started in 1990 and was completed in 1997. The total cost of this architectural wonder exceeded Rs. 32 crores. The ISKON Sri Radha Krisna Chandra Temple was inagurated by Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, former president of India on 31st May 1997.

The ISKON temple complex is situated about 200 ft above road level amidst beautiful garden & water fountains. There are 5 temples in this complex. Apart from this, the complex houses an Open auditorium, Vedic library, The Akshaya Patra mechanized kitchen, Vegetarian & Sattvic restaurant, Goshala, Guest house, Community hall etc.


ISKON conducts daily spiritual classes on Srimad Bhagavatam or The Bhagavat Gita at 8.30 am in the Lecture hall of the temple complex. On Saturdays & Mondays, the lecture will be given by Srila Prabhupada, the Founder Acharya of ISKON. You can choose the language of the classes (Tamil/ Telugu/ Hindi/ Kannada/ English). Apart from these, ISKON 's activities include : Akshaya Patra ( mid-day meal programme for under privilaged school children), Cow Protection, Cultural Education etc.

Thousands of people from different parts of the world visit this place daily. Now, ISKON has many centres in India & abroad. People from any religion are permitted to enter the temple.


Temple will be open for Darshana from 4.15 am to 5 am, 7.15 am to 12.50 pm, 4 pm to 8.20 pm everyday.
