Omthara Kala Kuteera is located in Basavenahalli village, Magadi taluk, which is about 40 kms from Bangalore. It will take just one hour to reach Omthara Kala Kuteera from Bangalore. The main building is named as Vishnu Dhama, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and each art work in that building tells a story. The columns and arches of the main entrance are designed after Lord Vishnu's four Chathurdhamas (four abodes) namely Rameswaram (Lord Rama), Puri (Lord Jagannath), Dwaraka (Lord Krishna) and Badarinath (Lord Narayana). Apart from this, the massive main door panels are carved with the images from the auspicious celestial marriages of Meenakshi Kalyana, Lakshmi Kalyana, Saraswati Kalyana, Srinivasa Kalyana, Rukmini Kalyana and Shanmukha Kalyana. In the same way, upper level large door panels are carved with images of Ashta Lakshmi (eight forms of Goddess Lakshmi). At the main lobby of Vishnu Dhama is the Srinivasa Sannidhi, where the entire story of Tirumala Lord Vekateshwara is carved in serpentine stone on the walls and arches. And in the adjoining space, just adorning the walls, is the beautiful stucco sculptures, carved with the images of Lord Krishna's stories including Geethopadesha artwork and Vishwaroopa, cosmic universal form of Lord Vishnu. There are numerous artwork of Lord Vishnu in the levels above and below the main entrance of the Vishnu Dhama. Lord Vishnu's ten main incarnations, Dashavathara sculptures are inscribed from ceiling to floor, and wall to wall of the Vishnua Dhama. As is customary in all Hindu temples, a pantheon of other gods and goddesses adorn the Vishnu Dhama. On the pillars of Vishnu Dhama are the 108 dancing poses from Lord Shiva's Thandava Nrithya (Lord Shiva's cosmic dance) with corresponding Sanskrit verses for each one of them. Behind Vishnu Dhama is the larger structure of Lord Shiva and his consort Shakthi.

At the top of the stairs of the main entrance is the 'Rama Rajya', embellishing an entire wall, carved in stone is the life story of Lord Rama starting from his birth on earth, his Vanavasa (life in the forest), abduction of Sita, defeat of Ravana, Sri Rama Pattabhishekha (Lord Rama's coronation) etc.
