Traffic Diversion in Bengaluru on Independence Day Aug 15


With Bengaluru City and Government gearing up for the celebration of the 65th year of Independence day. There have been major security arrangements in and around the parade ground in the city. Police officials have also issue certain guidelines for the same.

With the citizens gearing up for the two major events in the coming two days:

1) 65th year celebration of Independence day on Aug 15.
2) Support to Anna Hazare for his movement of India Against Corruption which will being on Aug 16.

State Government and BBMP Commissioner have made all the major arrangements for the Independence day around the Maneckshaw parade ground in the city. They deployed around 10 DCP, 20 ACP, 40 Inspectors, 80 sub inspectors and 1000 constables with CCTV cameras and police moving around in civil uniform.

The seating arrangement for the Independence day are:

  • 3000 seats for public Gate 4.
  • 2000 seats for VIP at Gate 2.
  • Dignitaries, Freedom Fighters, military officials and media from Gate 3.
  • 3000 seats for officers from different departments, retired military officers and BSF officers at Gate 3.


  • The will be parade held by NCC and school children after the flag hoisting. The cultural program will be around 1 hour long.

    Traffic Diversion for Independence Day

    Traffic Police have imposed several traffic restrictions in the city on the D-Day on Monday.

  • Traffic will be diverted from 8:30 am to 10:30 am from BRV junction to Kamaraj Road in both direction of Cubbon Road.
  • Vehicles coming in from Anil Kumble Circle towards Manipal Centre on Cubbon Road will move on Central Street, BRV Junction,
  • Central Street junction, take a right turn to Infantry Road, move towards Safina Plaza then take a left turn to Main Guard Road, Allies Circle, Dispensary Road, Kamaraj Road and Dickenson Road junction.
  • For two wheelers : Motorists will have to take a right turn to enter the Kamaraj Road.
  • Vehicle coming from Manipal Centre junction will have to move towards BRV Junction on Cubbon Road and turn left at KR Road junction.
  • Vehicles coming from Cauvery Arts and Craft Circle on MG Road going towards Cubbon Road and Kamaraj Road junction should go straight to MG Road towards Anil Kumble Circle, Queen Circle, Queen road and CTO Circle.
  • For Parking: Kamaraj Road Parking area, and enterParade Ground through Gate 3.

  • Guidance for the Citizens issued from Traffic Police

  • Citizens should not carry with Camera, Mobile phones, Radio, Umbrellas or any other equipment.
  • Citizens found carry this will not be able to enter the venue.
  • All those who are arriving at Parade Grounds should be seated before 8:30 am.
