About the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum


Visvesvaraya Museum is located in the sylvan surroundings of the Cubbon park at Kasturba Road, very close to another Tourist attraction of Bangalore Vidhan Soudha and highcourt etc. The Museum is located at about 5 kilometers from the City railway station as well as the bus stand.
Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum belongs and is one of the units of national Council of Science Museums which is an autonomous organization under the ministry of cculture of the government of India.
This museum has been established as a tribute to the brilliance of Sir M. Visvesvaraya one of the well known architects of the present Kstate of Karnataka. The Museum has an area of 40000 sq ft. built in the Cubbon park and was inagurated in the year 1962 by the then Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru. The first gallery of the Electro Technic was opened to the public in the year 1965.

Exhibition Halls at the Visvesvaraya Museum


Visvesvaraya Museum has 7 exhibition halls and two special exhibits.
Engine Hall, Electro Technic, Fun Science, Space - Emerging technology in the service of mankind, Biotechnological revolutions, BEL - hall of Electronics and Science for Children are the 7 permanent exhibition halls and Dinosaur Corner and Wright Brothers Aeroplane are the two special exhibit halls in the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum

Timings - 10 am to 6 pm
Open on all days except Ganesh Chaturthi and Deepavali.

Admission Charges


Entrance fee for all the visitors - Rs 20
For students and other groups - Rs 10
Taramandal show - Rs 5
Science Demonstration show - Rs 2
3D film show Rs 10 for school group and Rs 20 for general visitors.
Entrance is free for the Defence and Police personnel if they are in their uniform, the physically challenged as well as children below 5 years of age.
