Fair exchange or currency exchange?
The other day I wanted 5 rupee coin/ notes for Rs 500. I approached my Bank. The person in charge who is very friendly to me politely told me that they don't keep Rs 5 denomination. The same problem was faced with other two banks. Finally my next door shop helped me with the required change though in installments. I was wondering how to tackle similar problem , till I read the following news item. I think I found the solution. Should you land in similar situation here is that solution.
While on my way to office, I was stuck at a traffic signal. A beggar as usual walked amidst the vehicles right in the middle of the road. But he was not asking anybody for alms. Instead, a BMTC bus conductor got down the bus and approached him. He simply dropped a ten-rupee note into the beggars bowl and picked ten coins in return from the bowl and got back into the bus. People watching the unusual scene could not help smiling.
Do you call it Fair Exchange ? installments, in charge, denomination, solution, vehicles, traffic signal, unusual scene.
