Adarsh Promoters to move High Court against MMRDA, BEST
Shrouded in controversy, the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society,
promoters have decided to approach the Bombay High Court against the reported moves by the utility providers to cut electricity and water supply to them.
The promoters have decided to move the High Court against Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), reports said on Monday.
On the instructions of chief minister Ashok Chavan, MMRDA had revoked the occupation certificate issued to the Society and best demands Occupation Certificate to continue with electricity supply. The Promoters of the Society are likely to file a petition in the Court against the decision of the authorities as well as against the media for tarnishing their image, and media reports.
The promoters maintain that the land does not belong to Defence nor it was reserved for the Kargil war heroes. It was a State Government plot.
The society was shrouded in controversy after it was revealed that civilians as well as other kin of politicians were given flats at the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society, which was purportedly built for Kargil war widows.
