Eligibility Criteria for Women Officers in Indian Armed Forces
Women, who wish to serve their country by being part of this profession, need to satisfy the eligibility criteria, set as per the Government of India. A woman candidate who would wish to apply for this position will have to satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
- A Woman candidate is an Indian Citizen.
- A woman candidate can be a Subject of Nepal origin/Subject of Bhutan Origin/Subject of Tibetan Origin, provided the candidate's parents have a domicile certificate mentioning that they entered India prior to 1962, with an ideology of being an Indian Citizen.
- Any woman candidate with a Certificate of Eligibility along with the application.
- A woman candidate within the age limit 21 years to 27 years
When to apply for the post of Women Officers in Indian Armed Forces
To apply for the post of woman Officers in Indian Armed Forces, one should keep checking for the advertisement related to Recruitment of Lady Officers, thata re published twice a year in all the leading newspapers.
One should not worry about how to apply exactly, since the format is usually provided along with the advertisement. The desired candidates just need to use the same format provided in the newspapers. After applying, in case if the name of any candidates are shortlisted, then the shortlisted candidates have to appear for a written exam before the Service Selection Board. If passed in this exam, one needs to undergo medical examination, usually carried out by the Special Military Board. This medical examination is usually carried on at the nearest Military Hospital. Medical examination holds great importance with respect to the selection. It is necessary to have a good physique along with good eyesight for selection. The weight of the candidates should not be less than 36 kgs, and same is with the height, which should not be less than 142 cms. Perfect Eyesight also forms an important factor when it comes to selection of candidates in armed forces.
