Applications are invited from outstanding Indian candidates for the Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarships 2012 for Doctoral studies at St. John College, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. Who is eligible for the scholarship?:

- Indian national below 35 years of age as on 31 December 2011.

- The applicant should hold a Master's (postgraduate) degree from a recognised India university or institution.

- The applicant should have achieved first class in the relevant subject or field.

- The applicant should be fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Other criterias:

- The applicant who received UK government funding is not eligible for the scholarship.

- The applicant should have to fulfill the admission criteria laid down by the Cambridge University.

- Applicant who gets an offer of admission at St John's College will be eligible for the Scholarship.

- The applicant should possess leadership qualities.

What does the scholarship cover?:

- Academic fees.

- UK Visa fees.

- Airfare.

- Stipend to cover monthly expenses.

The procedure: Interested applicant has to make formal application to the University's Board of Graduate Studies at the same time of application to Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarships 2012 . Selected applicants will be called for an interview conducted by the British Council in New Delhi.

Last date: The last date of submitting application form is 31st December, 2011.

Commencement of the course: Full time Doctoral Research degree program will start at September/October, 2012.

About Dr. Manmohan Singh Scholarships 2012: The University of Cambridge lauched the scholarship program in 2007 as an honour to the current Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, who is also a graduate and Honorary Fellow of St John's College. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding Indian candidates to pursue Doctoral degree in Science & Technology, Economics and Social Sciences at St John's College, Cambridge University.
