Tips for celebrating safe Diwali


Deepavali is one of the indian festivals which celebrated across the nation irrespective of religion, language, caste and creed. This is the festival of light and sound. Children like this festival very much because they get crackers, sweets and new cloths etc.

Not only in India, all throughout the world Deepavali is celebrating with great enthusiasm on 26th October, 2011. This is the festival of light and sound all festivals have its own meaning of celebration. During deepavali, in the morning all family members apply til oil over their body and head and after an hour they used to take bath as usual. This was a traditional trend of Deepavali celebration in Tamilnadu. After bathing, all should wear a new cloth and pray God. During the day, variety of traditional pies will be prepared and distributed to all relatives and friends. The most famous pies on deepavali are 'Murukku' & 'Paniaram'. This is a traditional pie but nowadays everyone feel much comfort in just giving an order to the bakery and get it as they wanted. New clothes must be purchased for the family members. Children fond of this festivals because they have something to eat, wear and ignite crackers. Crackers are the most attracting factor of children which differentiates this festival from all other Indian festivals.

How to celebrate Deepavali safely


1. Children below below 12yrs should be allowed to ignite crackers without the supervision of adults.
2. Parents should not provide atom bomb crackers with ear tearing sound.
3. Don't allow the children to ignite crackers with their hands.
4. Always maintain distance while igniting crackers.
5. Keep ready with antiseptic cream and water readily available while celebrating Deepavali with family.
6. If you are living in a hut or there is any hut nearby your residence than take care of igniting rocket as this may fall on the hut creating a huge fire accident.
7. Phone numbers of fire service and Hospital also to be made readily available.
8. In case of any fire accident, call the fire service as they will be on duty around the clock.
9. Avoid high polluted crackers which may release lot of smoke thus making your surrounding highly polluted.
10. In all cities, the pollution level will increase considerably. So, it is better to celebrate your deepavali in your own village.
11. Do not keep the crackers in your home for a longer period.
12. Do not ignite crackers with the candle. This will be more dangerous as due to high flame the cracker will get burnt quickly as a result of that the cracker may explode in the hands itself.
13. The crackers may be ignited with a incense stick.
14. Do not fire crackers under a bottle or tin as this may harm you. The broken pieces of bottle sometime injure your eyes or any other organ badly.
15. While firing rocket crackers be sure that it is vertical other wise it may enter into the houses of someone else.
16. Avoid firing crackers in the roadside as it may create problem for the moving vehicles. Sometimes accidents may occur.
