Tamilnadu government has released the public holiday list today (November 21). This list has been announced by Tamilnadu chief secretary Devendranath Sarangi. Every year this list will be published on the month of November.

* Refers holidays only for commercial banks and cooperative banks. April 1, September 30 is holiday only for banks not for other government organisation like EB, corporation office, RTO offices and district administration. Other government bodies in Tamilnadu will function as usual.
Apart from this every Sunday of the year 2013 will be holiday. TNEB (Tamilnadu Electricity Board) will have all the second Saturdays as holiday. Saturday will be holiday for few government bodies in Tamilnadu. To ensure this check the office calendar issued by your department office. This time holiday mostly falls on week days. Only Tamil new year and Ayutha Pooja falls on Sunday. You can enjoy 22 holidays out of 24 holidays.
