I think I'm the only person to review this movie good in Internet. Gautham Vasudev Menon tried to convey a message something like "how to lead a happy love life". I think many didn't understand that. Actually this movie has no songs, director used the song just like a background music. If you watch those scenes like a song then you will get bored. Backgrounds scenes, acting, dialogue slightly had the fragrance of Vinnaithandi Varuvaya. Jiiva and Samantha look gorgeous in the screen. Ego between loving partners are shown clearly. The theme of the movie is "Girl want her partner to always stay near her and she don't want to separate for any cause. Boys separate from his partner to stay with his lover always ". Gautham menon showed this thing in different stages: on 8 age old, on 20 age old and on 24 age old.Neethaane En Ponvasantham story
Jiiva and Samantha are neighbors at the age 8. They used to play daily. One day Jiiva's brother asked who is important me or Samantha? Jiiva replies that his brother was important. On hearing this Samantha gets angry. After few days she get transfer.
Jiiva after a long time meets Samantha in his 10th tuition. There they both become friends. They used to ride in car and chat in tea shop. Jiiva joins 11th standard in Samantha's school. Once again they get separated because of a silly matter. Jiiva feels Samantha is wrong and Samantha feel Jiiva is wrong.
It was Jiiva's college cultural day. There Samantha came as a participant. Again they became friends. Then their relationship was evolved to love. They propose each other. Some days later Jiiva prepares for CAT exam and got selected in IIM Kozhikode. During CAT exam preparation Jiiva had avoided Samantha many times. Keeping this in mind Samantha feels happy that he completed his exam. Jiiva conveys that he is going to join hostel and Samantha wish to join him. Jiiva says its impossible. So their love breaks up.
On the age 24 Jiiva completes his MBA graduate and get a job in reputed company. Samantha serves the Tsunami affected children near Trichendur. Getting the details of her Jiiva reaches Manapad near Trichendur. He tries to compromise but it fails.
A year after this event Samantha meet Jiiva for inviting her sister marriage. Jiiva says that he is going to marry a girl. Samantha feels guilty and cries a lot. She visits him in his engagement. They both discuss about their life a day before marriage. Jiiva's father watch this thing and ask him to marry Samantha. He stops his marriage and goes to Samantha home. This movie moves slowly but won't bores you. I was bored only during the song scenes. Santhanam comedy was not so good as previous movie. He was used as a friend not as a comedy artist in this movie. Song scenes were lengthy and it makes me a bit boring. Acting done by all artist were good.
