Kollu Recipe Tamil Kollu Chutney and Rasam Benefits
Kollu is a type of dal which is used in Tamil kitchen from ancient days. Horse gram is called kollu in Tamil. Kollu benefits in Tamil nadu was well known so people used this in various forms like chutney preparation, kollu posi, rasam or soup preparation. The uses and heath benefits of kollu is popular in Tamil ayurveda maruthuvam. They use kollu for the preparation of weight reduction medicine. Here I have given some kollu recipe Tamil preparation methods.
Kollu chutney recipe Tamil nadu preparation
Kollu – ½ cup
Oil – 2tsp
Cumin seed – 1tsp
Coriander seeds – 1tsp
Red chillies – 4
Salt as per taste
Turmeric powder – a pinch
Curry leaves – little
How to prepare Tamil Kollu Chutney
Boil kollu in the pressure cooker by adding turmeric powder and one spoon oil.
Now remove the rasam separately and keep the boiled kollu separately.
Take a pan, add little oil and fry the cumin seeds, onion, coriander seeds, red chilles.
Then add the garlic and curry leaves, add this with the boiled horse gram.
Add salt and grind nicely, Tamil Kollu Chutney recipe is ready to taste.
It tastes best when added ghee for white rice.
Kollu rasam recipe Tamil Preparation
Take the juice separately after boiling kollu for chutney,
Now take the kollu juice, add salt as per taste,
Add rasam podi (cumin, coriander, pepper, garlic curry leaves ground paste),
Keep in the flame, when it gets foam (before boiling stage) remove foam the fire.
Sauté with mustard, curry leaves, asafetida and red chillies,
Garnish with coriander leaves. Tasty kollu rasam or Kollu soup in Tamil style is ready to taste.
