Hirapur Constituency Bidhan Sabha Election West Bengal
Past record and present situation of Hirapur constituency West Bengal. Important details of Hirapur Burnpur regarding Bengal Election
Burnpur is an important industrial town in Asansol of Burdwan district. This town got its name from Burn & Co. which promoted IISCO, now ISP on 1918. Another factory Burn Standard (Wagon factory) was established in the same year at Burnpur. There is lot confusion whether it is Burnpur or Hirapur. Actually local people call it Burnpur. Hirapur is a small part of Burnpur, still the police station and assembly constituency are named Hirapur.
If we have a look in the previous assembly results, it is as follows
Before 1957, Hirapur was a part Asansol assembly constituency.

Last election was won by CPI (M). 'Wind of Change' and Wagon Factory undertaken by Rail will put Trinamul Congress in advantageous position in Bidhan Sabha Election West Bengal 2011.
