Childhood of Sandhya Roy was not a memorable one. She has suffered a lot. At the age of 9 years, she lost her parents. At that time she used to stay at Nabadwip. After the death of her parents she had to move to jashore ( now in Bangladesh) to stay with her maternal uncle. Finally she came to Pikepara, Kolkata to stay with her sister in law. Education was fully stopped after the death of her parents.
Her first appearance in film was in a crowd scene. She got her break in Bengali movie Antariksha, a film of director Rajen Tarafdar and this was the beginning of Sandhya Roy. A dramatic real life story.
