Ban on private tuition by teachers of West Bengal

The West Bengal School Education department had a ban on all the teachers of schools affiliated to the West Bengal board but now they had taken a step further and had decided to ban all pvt tuitions.

This step taken by the West Bengal School Education department is likely going to give a relief to the students who were forced by their parents to rush to private tuitions. The West Bengal government has also decided to frame a law for the pvt tuitions and it will be declared as a punishable offense.

What legal action will be applied for a teacher taking private tuition

A teacher violating the rule has to face departmental actions according to service norms. According to the law which will be enacted in our state the teachers of the schools affiliated to the state board or any other board will not be allowed to give lessons to his/her students privately. Violating of this law may take the jobs away of those teachers and a fine too they need to pay with some legal punishments. Still many debates will take place under this topic of discussion as said by the School Education minister Partha De.

In several private schools, under other boards teachers are allowed for private tuitions, like the St James high school, but with several conditions, in case the guardian approaches to the school and submits a written application.
