Governor expressed his views about present violence torn West Bengal


Governor MK Narayanan has recently visited Netai village of Lalgarh and Jhaldah of Purulia district. He is very much worried about the political and Maoist violence in West Bengal.

West Bengal Governor has expressed his concern about violence in the state several times. Recently he visited Netai village where political violence took place recently and Jhaldah of Purulia district where seven Forward Block members were murdered by Maoists. He talked with the family members of the violence hit families. After his visit Governor MK Narayanan is very shocked.
His opinions are as follows

Maoism and students of college and universities in West Bengal



In the 70's many brilliant college and university students of West Bengal were involved with the naxal movement.

In his opinion, this time also many students of college and universities support Maoists and as per him it is a "fashionable trend" in different state universities.

Governor finds it guilty that a part of the civil society is also backing the Maoists. MK Narayanan, the former National Security adviser appealed well minded citizens for support so that the Maoist violence doesn't go out of control. Maoists are spreading all over India very rapidly and they are adopting modern techniques of violence. Governor said that only security forces are not sufficient to stop this violence of Maoists. Citizens also have some responsibility. He said "We need to take a comprehensive, encompassing, political, economical and security approach to reach a satisfactory solution to the Maoist problem."

Political violence in West Bengal



West Bengal is passing through a time when political violence is every day's news. Political murder is every day's vent in present Bengal. Law and order situation of the state is in alarming stage. Governor has expressed over the political violence in Lalgarh, West Bengal at Netai village on January 7, 2011 where 9 people have died so far and many more injured are still under treatment. He stated such political violence as threat to internal security and he hopes that such incidents should not happen again. As per him it's a day of sorrow and shame for West Bengal. Governor wants administration to take proper steps to stop such incidences.
