Bengal assembly polls-Mamata Banerjee declares Trinamool list of 228 candidates

The tug-of-war between Trinamool Congress and Congress over seat sharing in the coming West Bengal assembly polls 2011 is still continuing. Today Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee announced the names of 228 candidates of her party. The alliance between Trinamool Congress and Congress is now under a big question mark.

From the very first day of the meetings held so far between Trinamool Congress and Congress over seat sharing in the coming Bengal assembly polls 2011 was not in a friendly environment. There was a huge gap between the number of seats demanded by Congress and the seats offered by Trinamool Congress to Congress. Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is known as the Crisis Manager of Congress Party. His presence in number of such meetings also produced no positive result till today. State Congress President Manash Bhuniya sticks to his figure of minimum 90 seats and Trinamool Congress is not ready to share 60 to 64 seats with Congress. Congress also wants few winning seats in South Bengal. However, Mamata Banerjee is not ready to wait for more. Today she announced a list 238 Trinamool candidate names and she has left 2 seats for SUCI, another alliance of Trinamool and 64 seats for Congress. Congress has yet to decide about the matter. It seems that they will wait up to 21 March when Sonia Gandhi will return from her Europe tour.

Recent update of the news is that Manash Bhuniya requests Mamata Banerjee through media to wait for few days more so that the alliance between the two parties can be done successfully. Mamata Banerjee said before the press that if Congress fields their candidates in those 64 seats then it will be better otherwise she will put her candidates in those assembly seats also.

Neither Trinamool Congress nor Congress has declared that there is no alliance between them in the West Bengal Bidhan Sabha Election 2011. Some state Congress leaders want the alliance at any cost, as they said before electronics media. We have to wait for few days more to see what happens in the alliance between Trinamool and Congress in this Bengal assembly polls. If the alliance fails, Congress will be the more sufferer and we have to wait up to 13 May to see who will be the gainer, Trinamool or Left Front. Result of West Bengal Bidhan Sabha Election 2011 will be declared on 13 May 2011.
