Eden garden holds a number of prestiges associated with it as it is the oldest and biggest cricket ground in India. The park has got its name on the name of sister of Governor of Auckland named eden. The ground is not only large but also quite beautiful. It has huge seating capacity also. It is surrounded with a number of trees and thus appealing in looks. It is located at teh bank of river Hoogly. The eden gardens of Kolkata has witnessed a number of cricket matches including many significant ones also. Its beauty is enhanced by pagoda. A number of types of aquatic animals are also found at this place including the fishes, red fiddler crabs and hermit crabs.
