History of Hindustan Club

In 1945, few visionaries of Kolkata (then Calcutta) dreamt of having their own club with traditional Indian values. They rented a bunglow with a lawn on Lansdowne Road, a posh locality and aptly named it Hindusthan Club. It was a club where people of all ages could be found enjoying the club facilities. The Club was prospering and round the year programmes were being organized. The club was specially famous for its mouth watering vegetarian food.

In the 1990s, the club bought out the rented premises. The club activities was growing in stature and the club was adding one feather after the other in its cap. Later a ten storied modern club building with multi-facilities in Kolkata. like Restaurants, banquets swimming pool, squash court, health club, sauna, gym, residential rooms, etc. was built and it became one of its kind of club in Kolkata.

It has various banquet halls like Shehnai, Lansdowne, Crystal Room and Galaxy for hosting parties by the members round the year from 60 persons to 500 persons.

Guest Rooms at Hindustan Club, Kolkata:
Rooms are equipped with electric kettle, TV, Fridge, Lockers and all other modern gadgets. All 14 rooms are currently Air-conditioned.

Kessar at the 6th floor is the Restaurant which can accomodate 350 to 400 persons and remains crowded after evening.

Swimming Pool at Hindustan Club, Kolkata:
A beautiful pool on the 4th floor gives a lovely experience to the members and guests as this is the only pool in Kolkata which is above the ground level.
