Kochbihar district is located in the north-east region of the State West Bengal. The boundry for this district includes Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal in the north and Assam state on the east. The Palace of Koch king Maharaja Nripendra Narayan is the best tourist attraction in Kochbihar. This gigantic palace was constructed by the Maharaja according to the concept of classical European style of Italian Renaissance in 1887.Modan Mohan temple

One most observing thing in Kochbihar are large water bodies. Out of them the Rasik bil is the most important place for large collection of migratory birds gather here throughout the year. Tourists can get their best accomodation in Rasik Bil by the forest department in order to increasing the number of tourists.

Modan Mohan temple


This beautifull temple is Situated at the centre of the Kochbihar city. This temple was built by Maharaja Nripendra Narayan in the period of 1885 to 1889. Establishing deities in the temple including Lord Madan Mohan, Ma Kali, Ma Tara and Ma Bhavani. One biggest festivals of North Bengal is the traditional Raas Jatra Festival during Raas Puja along with Rass Mela held here, which brings a huge accomodation of visitors in this place.

Borodebi Temple


The famous Borodebi Temple is Situated at Debibari of Kochbihar city. Idol of Goddess Durga is installed inside this Temple. Tourist can found the Influence of European architecture in the construction of the whole temple building. The place becomes busy during Durga Puja held every year.

Brahmo Temple


Brahmo Temple was established by Maharaja Nripendra Narayan during the period of 1860 to 1880. The best thing in this temple is the Roman epoque architecture is a rarity in this region. The temple represents the great influence of Brahmo Samaj on the Maharaja of Kochbihar.

Kamteswari Temple


This holy temple is situated at a distance of about 8 km towards west of Dinhata railway station. the main temple is now destroyed. The present temple was established in 1665 by Maharaja Pran Narayan . The throne of Debi is placed Inside the temple. Among with the main temple 2 smaller temples also situated at the back-side of the temple boundry. A Tarakeswar Sivalinga` is present at the gate of the temple. So many festivals are celebrated here from which the Batha Festival of Debi in the month of Magh(Oriya month) is awesome.
