No MCI recognition for ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research of Lakshman Seth
The Medical Council of India (MCI) has withdrawn the recognition from the private college, ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research run by a NGO where CPI (M) leader Lakshman Seth is the all in all.
The Medical Council of India has scraped the recognition of ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Haldia of West Bengal. This private medical college is known as a college of CPI (M) leader Lakshman Seth. The decision of Medical Council of India (MCI) will create an uncertain future of the students who got admitted in ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Haldia. At present ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Haldia has 88 students and each of them paid on average Rs. 4.5 lakh as capitation fee to the college.
The Medical Council of India (MCI) will convey their decision to the state government and college authority today. The Medical Council of India (MCI) has confirmed there is no question of further inspection and renew of recognition.
It is to be noted that the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Dental Council of India had an inspection earlier and they found that ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Haldia has no separate building. ICARE Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Haldia was sharing space with a dental college.
