Early life of Anna Hazare
Anna Hazare was born at Bhingar, a small village near the city of Hinganghat, in Bombay Province. Current name Maharashtra. His father worked as an unskilled labourer in that village in Ayurveda Ashram pharmacy. Ralegan Sidhi was Baburao's own village and after retiring from his job in 1952 they returned to that village. Kisan had six younger brothers and sisters and their life was full of hardships. Kisan was taken to Mumbai by her childless aunt and he was educated in Mumbai. He started working in Mumbai and opened a shop in Mumbai and he brought two of his brothers in Mumbai.
Military career of Anna Hazare started in the year of 1962. He was able to join the army because of an emergency in which persons where selected in spite of not being physically fit for it. Anna Hazare got his military training at Aurangabad in Maharashtra and in the year 1963 he joined the army as a driver. During the Indo-Pak war Anna was posted in Khem-Khar sector in the border line of India-Pakistan and Pakistan launched air attacks to all the bases of India. Anna survived any how during those attacks. Anna started reading books of Swami Vivekananda and other great writers and used to get inspired by those. In the year 1970 Anna was saved any how from a road accident and that time he took an oath that he will dedicate his life to the service of Humanity at the age of 38. In the year 1978 Anna took voluntary retirement from the army.
In the year 1978 Anna went to his native village at Ralegan Siddhi. There Anna showed his qualities and transformed the whole village. He had got support from the people of village and brought up many new technologies for better agriculture. He changed many things in his village like untouchability, collective marriages etc.
