Principal of Raiganj College Assaulted By Students and Outsiders
Education system in West Bengal is really under a great threat. Another assaulting case happened today at Raiganj College. Raiganj College principal has been assaulted and this incidence has raised many quaetions. People are eagerly waiting to see what steps our state government taking to prevent these types of incidences
Yet another case of assaulting head of an institution happened in West Bengal. Today Principal of Raiganj College is being assaulted by students of a particular union and outsiders. It is claimed by opposition party CPI (M) that Trinamool Congress student's union students with the help of outsiders have physically assaulted the principal of Raiganj College. Name of a local Trinamool councilor is also in the air that he was present in the spot.
This type of assaulting institution heads is happening repeatedly in West Bengal which is a very signal for the education system of the state. Educational institutes, schools or colleges in our state are totally under political parties. It was the agenda of the new state government to restore better educational environment in institutes so that West Bengal can bring back its' lost glory in education. Many new steps are already being taken by the new state government to free the educational institutes from political corruption but a lot are to be done.
Presently a new trend is seen in West Bengal that all the half leaders and quarter sized leaders of the ruling party are showing too much interest in working of the institutes specially schools as if they are very much worried about our education system. This is a dangerous signal for the society. They are interfering in the works of head of the institute. There are managing committees in every government aided schools. Are there any specific criteria which are to be fulfilled to become a member of the managing committee of a school? Any minimum qualification required for becoming Secretary of the school managing committee? NO! Anyone can become a member or Secretary, only he or should be backed by political party. In case of many school committee members, the number of times they have entered an academic institution as a member of managing committee may be greater than their attendances in institution during student life. These types of people are the root cause of all troubles. They are mostly useless and jobless people got an authority which they do not deserve.
New government has to look after all these points if they are really interested to improve our education standard and quality. Assaulting teachers in schools and colleges are indications rather symptoms of incurable disease in the education system of West Bengal. State government must take stern actions to stop this type incidences and present outsiders from entering institution premises without any valid reason.
