Member Ranking

In this article, I will explain what is member ranking and how it is calculated.


Member Ranking is assigned to all active members based on their contribution level in this site. The most active and best contributed member will be ranked #1 and next member will be ranked #2 and so on.

Member Rank is calculated by our automated system and it consider the following factors:

1. Total points earned by the member

2. Points earned by the member in last 3 months is given some weightage

3. Points earned in last 30 days is given higher weightage

Ideally, the member with the highest points will be ranked #1. However, due to the weightage for points earned in the recent period, members with slightly lower total points may rank better than members with higher points.

Re calculation of relative ranking for all members is a very complex and expensive system process. Due to this, the ranking will be recalculated only once in a week (Sunday midnight - when the traffic is the lowest in our sites and the server is not too busy).

Members who joined recently may not have any rank assigned until they get some minimum points and until they the rank recalculation in the Sunday after they join. Such members will see 0 as their member rank which indicates no rank is assigned.
