Bihar is a state which has been lagging behind in many sectors of development. A Bihar has been announced as Model State in health welfare in Geneva conference. Here is the review of developments made by Bihar in field of health and welfare

But with the recent ruling government, Bihar has seen developments in many fields. In the past years companies did not invest or planned to setup business in Bihar. But with Nitish Kumar's government things have changed from worst to good not better still.
One sector development has been so drastic that it has made India proud-Health sector. In World Health Assembly convention in Geneva the computer baron Bill Gates has appraised Bihar and pronounced it to be a Model State in Health welfare. The infant mortality rate in Bihar has dropped drastically. The immunization among children has risen by 100%, which was 30% in yester years has now gone up to 60%.

UNICEF representative Ms. Karin Hulshof said, “Bihar has shown remarkable development in the field of health. There is tremendous decline in infant mortality rate, increase in immunization of the children, and positive appraisal in other health related segments". UNICEF and other international organizations are moving towards Bihar to render more help in health related programs.

The Union Health Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad of Congress, being the rival of the Chief Minister of Bihar Mr. Nitish Kumar, has praised the developmental work in Bihar in the field of health.

India has seen the state of Bihar using a different method of election campaign with a difference, where parrots were used to campaign, being a new sort of campaigning. It was brilliant idea if Lalu Prasad Yadav to train the birds (parrots) to speak “Vote for Lalu" and were made to fly away. These birds traveled to any part of the state sitting anywhere they started to campaign “Vote for Lalu". Lalu Prasad is brilliant person but he channelised his abilities for sluggish reason, and thus is no more ruling his birth place.
