Berhampur is the oldest city of Orissa; it also called as silk city of Orissa. Berhampur 'Thakurani Yatra' is one of the most famous festivals in Orissa. It occurs in every three years in the month of March 'Chaitra Masa'. Devotees from all over the country visit here in this occasion to be blessed by the Goddess. Ganjam 'Danda Yatra' is also famous for festive of Goddess Kali, where people with pious purpose celebrate perform this for a period of 13, 17 or 21 days.

1. Tara Tarini, 25 Km from Berhampur. It is famous for temple of Goddess Tara Tarini, which is situated in the bank of river Rushikulya on top of Kumari hill with 999 steps. This is one of the Devi Shakti Peetha of India. The Yatra (festive) take place in every year on the month of March 'Chaitra Masa'.
