Manikaran is situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It is 45 kilometers away from Kullu. It is situated between river Beas and Bhuntar place of Kullu. It is a very well known tourist attraction of Kullu.

Manikaran from religious point of view


Manikaran is a pilgrim place of Sikhs and Hindus. There are many temples and gurudwaras in Manikaran. It offers beautiful scenery to its visitors.

Description of Manikaran from Hindus point of view


It is believed that many years ago, Hindus God Shiva with her wife was going through Manikaran. They decided to take rest for some time. During their rest Goddess Parvati lost her one of earring(MANI). She was very disappointed and asked Lord Shiva to search for her lost earring. Lord Shiva asked one of his worker to in and search for the earring of Parvati. But the worker was failed to search the earring. Widen he came back without earring the Lord Shiva got full of anger and he opened his third eye. Due to this a hot liquid starts flowing in all the areas around Manikaran. The hot water is still there in Manikaran and many peoples during their visit to Manikaran use to cook rice on hot water

Description of Manikaran according to Sikh's


According to Sikh's Guru Nanak Dev with some other people came to Manikaran in 1574. They were hungry and had nothing to eat. Then Guru Nanak Dev sent one of his friend to collect food for all of them. Many people donated food according to their potential. But all gave uncooked food to him. To cook the uncooked food Guru Nanak Dev produces a hot water source there, which is still in Manikaran.

Manikaran is situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It is easily accessible from all the parts of Himachal Pradesh.
Bhuntar is the nearest airport to Manikaran.
Joginder Nagar is the nearest railway station to Manikaran.

hello narender, it is very nicely written. I didn't know about the history of Manikaran. This website is very handy for gathering information about the various places in h.p very deeply.
