It is believed that many years ago, Hindus God Shiva with her wife was going through Manikaran. They decided to take rest for some time. During their rest Goddess Parvati lost her one of earring(MANI). She was very disappointed and asked Lord Shiva to search for her lost earring. Lord Shiva asked one of his worker to in and search for the earring of Parvati. But the worker was failed to search the earring. Widen he came back without earring the Lord Shiva got full of anger and he opened his third eye. Due to this a hot liquid starts flowing in all the areas around Manikaran. According to Sikh's Guru Nanak Dev with some other people came to Manikaran in 1574. They were hungry and had nothing to eat. Then Guru Nanak Dev sent one of his friend to collect food for all of them. Many people donated food according to their potential. But all gave uncooked food to him. To cook the uncooked food Guru Nanak Dev produces a hot water source there, which is still in Manikaran.How to reach Manikaran
