Glimpse of Himachal Pradesh

Himachal,a state of Gods. The origin of this state came into being a very early time of human settlement. The people here are very kind hearted and fairly believes in their hard work. Surrounded by the Great Himalayas it adds more beauty to its geography, as well as its protection from the ill hands.

The eighteenth state of India, Himachal Pradesh on 25th January 1971 was declared as an independent state of the Indian union. It was 30 kingdom states that merged together to form Himachal Pradesh on 15th April 1948. It has a terrific history behind such a strong culture and moral values. This is the land of Gods. Indian Indus valley civilization where first human settlement took place is in this state itself. From that time only the state flourished into a world renowned state. The civilization affected the major part of the Great Himalayas which covers whole of the state and hence the entire human culture started flourishing here. It was the time of Rig-Veda (one of the Vedas among four Vedas of Hindu culture) where the Aryans came over and lived here as the first originators which history tells us.
At early of its origin only few communities were there namely Halis, Dhaugris, Dasa, Khasas, etc. With the passage of time it came under the control of Kashmir around 883 A.D. .It was invaded by the famous invader Mahmud Ghazni and he looted whole of the state. Around 1043 A.D. it came under the rule of Rajputs. They made the state a great kingdom again and it flourished fully in their period. They ruled till 1773 A.D.
Since, the state was ruled from time to time, therefore has seen many ups and downs. In the year 1804 Maharaja Ranjit Singh attacked the state and which crushed the reign of Rajputs and the Nepal tribe (Gorkhas). Somehow, these Gorkhas spread to the south of Himachal and they came in contact with the Britishers and had a war named as Anglo-Gorkha war. Since, the Britishers were the powerful among them in terms of technology and war power. They expelled out these tribes of Gorkhas from the state.
The people of Himachal Pradesh were availing the services provided by these Britishers and thus no harm was made by them to people living here. During the time of freedom struggle in 1947, people came together and gave their maximum to expel Britishers from the state and thus came up with the independent state of the indepencent India.
From the time of independence, it has attained a good position in all respects across whole of the India.
