Red lake
This lake is in Chamba district and it is situated on the top of the hills in the Saho area. It is a natural lake which covered so much area and it is so deep and no one are allowed to go to the middle of the lake. In this lake there is a festival in the month of August and September, during that time thousands of people came this place and bath in this lake and came back to home , it is believed that by bathing in this lake one can free from the greedy. When this festival is came then in the way various people are giving free foods to all the people and also living facility in the night. It is about two day journey and on the last day of the festival their local god are taken to this lake and various instrument sound are produced and they are bathed with the lake water and after that the dance and celebrate this festival and came back to home and finally this god is taken back to the temple which is 100 meter from the lake.
How to reach this lake
This lake is situated on the hill of the Saho area which is about 50 km from the chamba, you can reach this place by bus or taxi. There are so many buses are available from the Chamba's local bus stand, after reaching this place the main journey of this lake starts because for this lake there is no road facility so you have to walk for it, and it is about50 km from the Saho and it takes about two days for reaching this lake, in the way there are free foods are provided by the people and also free facility of living in the night are given. If you are going to this place then it is good if you take your own quilt because if there are so many people then you may get only one blanket at this place and it is so cold. And the best season to visit this lake is in the month of the august and September during that time so many people go to this lake and in the winter this lake is covered with snow and if you are going to this lake than always warm clothes.
