Oldest heritage park in Solan district
Here we are talking about the one of the famous place of the Solan district which is known as Heritage Park. This park is situated in the Ashani Khad which is about 10 km from the Solan on the Kurgal road. This is one of the most popular places for the wondering in the Himachal Pradesh.
This park was inaugurated by the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Bajpai in 2002. Basically in this park there is a big temple and around this temple there is a big ground where there are so many statues of the Gods and the different animals are placed. And in front of this parks there is a small river is flowing where you can enjoy the boating.
Main attraction of the park
The main attraction of the park is the temple. In the middle of this park there is a big temple is situated. This temple is completely made of the different types of the stones. All the stones came from the different part of the country like from the Rajasthan, Gujarat and Bihar etc. Above the front gate of the temple there is a big Rath of the Surya Dev in which there is about 6 to 8 horses are present. These horses are made of the different types of the stones and it is said if this temple is completely made and anyone who go under these horses will safe from the different types of the Grah.
Inside this temple there are about 50 to 60 statues of the different types of the Gods are placed. Firstly when you enter in the temple there is about 20to 30 stairs, after that you enter the main Hall of the temple where there are so many statues are present. The height of this Hall is about 35 to 45 feet. Firstly in this hall there is a statue of the Lord Hanuman which is of Red colour, after that there is a statue of the Mata and after there is a large Shiv Ling is placed which is about 5 to 6 feet in Height on the both side of this Shiv Ling there are all the statue of the Mata. After that there is a small statue of the Lord Ganesh who is the son of the Lord Shiva's. And in the last there is s a statue of the Lord Bhairo Nath which is made with the black stone and in the last you reach the exit gate. Around this Hall there are so many statues are placed of the different Gods.
On the both side of this temple there is a large ground is available where so many statues of the different Gods and animals are made. These are made with the stones.
One important things of this temple is that there is a big library which is under construction and also there is a museum which is also under construction and all the work of this temple will be completed in the coming 2 to 3 years. One thing always remembers in your mind when you visit this temple then the photo with the statue and inside the temple is not allowed. While outside the temple or in the park you can take the photos.
How to reach this Park
This park is situated in the Solan district. It is about 10 km from the Solan on the Kurgal road. You can easily reach this place by bus as well as taxi. Distance of Solan from various places is given as:
From Shimla it is about 50km, from Chandigarh it is about 75, from the Delhi it is about 300km and from the Chamba it is about 350km.
You can also reach this place by train and famous railway station is in Kalka. You can also reach this place by airplane and the nearest International airport is in Chandigarh from where it is about 80km. and the summer is the best time to visit this place.
