Adapting life with an Epileptic Child.

Epilepsy till today remains one of most researched diseases.Parents who have a child suffering from Epilepsy are always on the lookout for a miracle. There are many types of epilepsy some curable and some incurable. The child about whom is written here ,falls into the second category.

When a child is born normal, then third day develops complication, it becomes very agonizing for the parents. Then comes another blow that the child is Epileptic.
Epilepsy till today is on of those diseases that has no cent per cent cure. Life becomes a 24/7 day job for the parents. The father has his share of the load but mother becomes the most integral part in the life of the child. Hospitals become next homes and doctors, nurses become 'friends'.
My child had to go through an array of hospitals his whole life. First few days to first few months of visit to Delhi hospital AIIMS made him a known face there. Then shifting to Mumbai was on of the wisest decision we took. Mumbai being the best place for good doctors and good hospitals ,we knew our child would get the best medical attention.
Our journey began with Hinduja hospital, where our son was considered a research patient. His god days followed. Not for long though. Sion Hospital followed then.Again tests EEG and all that.
With a new enthusiasm we were recommended to KEM Hospital. Here the child was going through all the pain and test against his will (many a times.)
Here I would like to write that living with epilepsy is very difficult and it has such a lot of restrictions.

Such an important issue that it cannot be written at one go. So as can be expected , a little bit more may follow.
