About Dr.Ambedkar
Dr.Ambedkar, a great social reformer and a great political leader. He had done many contributions for upgrading the lives of the people belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled tribes(SC/ST). He is very well known for eliminating the word called Untouchability which was prevailing during his period. He is a very great Lawyer and was praised for his Drafting of Indian Constitution. To praise his service, a University was founded in Tamil Nadu to educate and make the students to excel in Law & Legislation.
Dr.Ambedkar Law University
Dr.Ambedkar Law University was established near Chennai. On 20th September 1997 this great University was opened inaugurated by Mr. K.R.Narayanan former President of India. And this University started its educational career in teaching law from 3rd November 1997.Objectives of Dr. Ambedkar Law University
The objectives of this great law University are stated under the Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University Act 1996. The main Objectives are as follows:
•To provide the advanced law education to the students and to help them in spreading the knowledge of Law Education.

•To promote legal knowledge and to provide efficient instruments for the Social Development.
